I love to be alone, but I can only last a week. I too have a family so they keep me from going crazy. I also keep myself from going crazy chatting with peers; they know when it is ok to talk. But I do love to be on my own. The reason is because I am know to have good times and once I get started my writing becomes last. That is just me.

@Office Newb – I work with my wife, actually, and I do get some “office” interaction when we’re working. Still, I’m thinking more of the “peer” problem – others who do what I do. The first few years I tried to explain it to people but then I just gave up. It’s not something you explain.
This year was different though. I got involved in NaNoWriMo and that kept me tied into a social world that wasn’t quite so dependent on me being somewhere at a certain time. It worked on my schedule, and I didn’t need to make excuses. It wasn’t perfect mind you, but it was a nice change.
