I don’t normally do this. Really.
Why would I bump what may be my best post in the last week from the top post of my blog just to give you one link to someone else’s blog?
To remind you (and me) that Seth Godin is a fracking genius. You want to know how to write like a blogger? Seth’s summed it all up in a nice package of 9 shiny tips. Go there and read them, but I’ll give you my favorite from the list here:
6. Gimmicks aren’t as useful as insight. If you’re going to blog successfully for months or years, sooner or later you need to actually say something. Same goes for your writing.
Many thanks to Joanna Young for sending the link out as a tweet.
Now, once you’ve read Seth’s article, come back to the article I bumped ![]()

Yep. Seth is definitely DA MAN. His books are also sheer brilliance in their simplicity.
Now you know, Bob, that normally I’d read anything you write, but let me know when you’ve recovered from your Seth fever and are saying something Boblike.
A frackin’ genius… only true fans would get that reference. :))
Oh, and by way of apology, I shouldn’t accuse you of Seth fever given the extent to which I’m an orange-robed Problogger cult member.
@ Lori - you bet. I’m sooo excited about the return.
@ John - now THAT was funny.
4. It’s okay if you leave. Bloggers aren’t afraid to include links or distractions in their writing, because we know you’ll come back if what we had to say was interesting.
*Looks around* Yep, dead on.
Because after reading Seth’s tips there, I couldn’t get over the curiosity for the “best post in the last week” you mentioned above. *Click* Hehe.
And thanks for the link to Seth’s blog, very much.
Effigy’s last blog post..Ad Libs: Night Before Christmas
@ Effigy - Thanks for stopping in and adding your thoughts! Come back any time.
